Short Sea Shipping: Balearic Islands
CAYCO offers weekly shipments to the Balearic Islands with 24-hour transit times for groupage and full containers.
Short Sea Shipping (SSS) represents a significant volume within global maritime operations. Unlike intercontinental shipments, these operations typically involve countries with established commercial channels—such as the European Union—and often involve domestic traffic between ports of the same country.
This is the case for maritime transport to the Balearic Islands, which CAYCO offers three times a week within its CONSOLIDATED LINES services group. Consolidated lines are not regular shipping routes but transport services established by a logistics operator, leveraging the operations of various maritime companies.
This service to the Balearic Islands uses maritime containers, which can be ordered as Full Container Loads (FCL) or Less than Container Loads (LCL). Daily cargo pickups across the peninsula enable a Door-to-Door service to the Balearic Islands within 24 hours from the Peninsula.
Departures are from the Port of Valencia, with national destinations including Palma and Ibiza (Monday, Tuesday, and Friday) and Menorca (Fridays only). CAYCO can facilitate regional re-expedition between Ibiza and Formentera.
EXPERTISE IN MARITIME TRANSPORT
CAYCO is a logistics operator with proven experience in the maritime transport sector, where the company originated. Although this service is listed as “international” within the FORWARDING SERVICES group, for many years we have offered “domestic” maritime freight to the CANARY ISLANDS, CEUTA, and MELILLA, in addition to the Balearic Islands.
For Andalusian companies, our direct route ANDALUSIA-VALENCIA can be a very interesting complement.
